Box of Note Cards

I wanted to start doing some swaps outside of SOC so I decided to do one with a group of people that live in my area.  We all have a connection as we know a lot of the same people.  I feel fortunate to have a large network of crafty people in my area.  I have learned so much. But anyway we decided to swap notecards.  Most of the ladies color images, I haven't gotten into that aspect yet but I am building my supply of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers.  I decided to alter a box to fit my note cards also.  I used paper from the paper stack called Green Tea from DCWV.  I love those colors so this box was right up my alley.  I love bright colors!!! The technique I used for the note cards was very simple also.  I stamped glossy card-stock with Versamark watermark ink and then brayered over the watermark images with ink.  The ink has to be dye ink not pigment so it needs to dry quickly.  I used Momento inks.

My Christmas List 2012

The picture above is my dog Axel Rose.  I don't think he likes the reindeer ears but he is slowly getting used to them.  Last year he would squint his eyes whenever he had them on.

Well my Christmas List is short this year and usually every year.  I usually don't get gifts unless I am buying them for myself so no need for an extensive list.

I would like new Silhouette blades and mats, white ankle socks, a few pairs of jeans, new sneakers, pillows (thanks Axel for chewing mine up!) , and a leather belt. Short and sweet.  Probably won't get any of it...oh well such is life. Oh I forgot one thing that I know for sure I won't get but I  am just putting it out there.  I would love a Christmas boyfriend...ha ha ha

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

Getting my thanks on

I wanted to thank a few friends that supported me in my women's club fund raiser.  Because of them I did not have to shell out $250 for tickets I was responsible for selling.  This is the first year I have not had to come out of my pocket to pay for unsold tickets so I wanted to say thank you. Here are a few of the cards I made for one group.  I saw this design on Pinterest so I scrap lifted it!!!

Waiting for Sandy to roll in

So today was the day for me to prepare for whatever Sandy may bring.  I cleaned out the drain outside the basement door, went to the grocery store, and got gas. Now I am just catching up on my DVR'd shows and making this card for Classy Girl's Sketch Challenge #7.  So I had plans to make another card but it was butt ugly after it was done so I had to go to plan B. Hope you like it!!

So It's Bling You Want

Hello to all my subscribers.  I have another card that I have done for a swap on Scraps of Color.  The swap theme was bling.  I wanted to make a CAS card that could be easily duplicated.  I found an image on the Internet and decided that I wanted to cut it out using my Silhouette.  Then I had the idea to use glitter paper for each tree layer.  My all time favorite glitter paper is POW by American Crafts. I had a stash somewhere hidden in my craft room.  Just need to find it.... I try to stock up on this stuff when I can because it can be hard to find.  I hope you like my creation.  I can't wait to see what the others did for the swap.

Group 1 August Swap Video

I know its late but the digital media card that the video was on has traveled quite a bit before I got a hold of it.  It went to Hawaii, California, and Puerto Rico.  So now that its back in Maryland I can post it.  So group 1 here goes:
